2007/08 Sponsored Racer: Kyle Flatman

Kyle Flatman I am 13 years old and have lived in Salmon Arm most of my life.  I started touring the trails of Larch Hills in my parents backpack.  I started skiing on my own when I was 3 years old.  I feel very privileged to live close to Larch Hills as it is my favorite place to ski.

My family does a lot of outdoor adventure activities like sea kayaking, hiking and bicycle touring.  We have a lot of fun exploring different parts of Canada.

As a first year Midget, the 2007/2008 Race Season was challenging.  I was able to maintain the fastest first year midget time throughout the BC Cup and Sprint competitions.  It proved to be a good experience to race against skiers both older and stronger.  A very exciting finish to the race season was at Midget Championships. This competition allows racers to compete against their specific age group.  I was able to achieve gold in both the classic distance race and skate sprint race.

I am very appreciative to John and Tammy Thielman for their support of equipment and encouragement for this ski season.  The Peltonen Skate Skis that I raced on this season where amazing.  I really liked the sharp edges and the positive camber of the ski.

I look forward to another great season next year.
